ESL Coffee & Conversation Club

OVERVIEW
Help new Canadians and fellow Cochranites practise their English speaking and listening skills during one-on-one sessions or small groups. Volunteers lead interesting conversations about gardening, wildlife, travel, food, history, shopping, careers, etc.

PROGRAM GOALS
Provide a comfortable and safe environment to practise speaking and listening in
English speaking skills
Foster independent learning skills
Provide an enjoyable social setting

One-and-a-half hour programs
Six-week sessions

VOLUNTEER QUALIFICATIONS

Fluent in English
Strong facilitation skills
Superior interpersonal skills
Active listening skills
Ability to work effectively with people from all backgrounds and all skill levels

Attend an orientation and training session
Commit to all dates of the program
Create a supportive, fun and rewarding environment
