COMING SOON: Homebound Readers

Coming Soon: HOMEBOUND READERS

Do you love to read and love the library, but are unable to visit due to poor health, minimal mobility or a physical or visual disability? Are you a stay-at-home mom or newcomer to Cochrane with limited transportation options?

Well look no further because beginning late 2017, we will come to you!

As a member of the Cochrane Public Library you can apply for this free service if you reside in the Town of Cochrane and area (Bragg Creek, Redwood Meadows, Springbank, Bearspaw) and currently have limited access to the library and its services.

When you contact the Library, a librarian will phone you to discuss this service. If you qualify, you will be asked a number of questions to determine your reading preferences.  Based on your preferences and location, a volunteer will bring library materials to you every two to four weeks and return any borrowed materials to the Library for you.

Would you like to volunteer with the Homebound Readers Service?
Please fill out our Volunteer Application Form on our website or by visiting the library. Interested volunteers will be contacted closer to the fall launch to be scheduled for a library orientation and training.

** Note that because our homebound readers are vulnerable, we require that all volunteers provide references and complete a free criminal record check.

Stay tuned for more information or contact us at info@cochranepubliclibrary.cawith the subject line “Homebound Readers” and a librarian will contact you.
